We had a unusual request to incorporate a Ford truck nursery with garage door, into a sports themed guest suite we did few years ago.
So we moved around few the sports pictures, touched up faux finish to make room for a custom built, mini version of old time garage door to be placed above a crib.
The client later had us add a metal Ford name plate, picture frames, and collector Ford toy trucks onto the garage door. It was a challenge to make it work. We added two shelves, arranged the picture frames, attach them to each other, then to the bottom shelf. And for top shelf attached the toy trucks. It really came out looking awesome, the client was pleased! She said it was more than what she imagined.
Another fun Safari theme children’s bedroom. As you can see we are careful to make the animals look friendly. We decided to paint on the doors due to room being so small, lacking wall space for the elephants, giraffes and lions. However, the room is very tall so had lot of room up top to do sky faux finish, birds, tree with baby chimpanzees, monkey and vines for them to swing on. It turned out great. The little guy was so happy with his room and that’s all that matters to us.
This theme was so fun…made the nursery look like a hut on the beach, in the middle of a island. The crib sheets and furniture also played important roll for the kind of colors used. The boat in the mural was a actually boat the clients used. The walls were faux finished to look like canvas and ceiling like thatch. Added dolphins, turtles, seashells, starfish along with a islander type canoe, footprints and much more.
We did full sketch of safari theme and color for the nursery walls to go with the crib bedding. The lion cubs and chimpanzee were added at last minute. My favorite to paint is the giraffes.
The client wanted a nursery rhyme themed mural but couldn’t quite decide on which one. So we did several from one to the other, by blending the nursery rhymes into the next all the way around the room. We also painted a moon and stars on the ceiling to match the top of the crib post, then lightly coated them with glow in dark clear paint. Also painted around the two white closet doors to look like a barn. This Mural turned out to be one of my favorites!
